Formerly known as the world's hottest pepper (over 1,200,000 SHU) before being overtaken by the Carolina Reaper, the Trinidad Moruga Scorpion is known for its late-hitting, burning heat. However, despite its extreme heat, its flavour is quite sweet and flavourful, making it a great ingredient in hot sauces and salsas. This yellow cultivar of the pepper was created by Wahid Ogeer of Trinidad.
